LAHORE : Ahmed Shehzad, the right-handed Test opener of the Pakistan Cricket team, has been also included in the list of the local player in gold category of the Draft of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League which is planned to be held in the April-May window of the year.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday has made public the much-awaited list of domestic players in the gold category for PCB, which included many players as Ahmed, Fawad Alam , Umar Akmal and Sharjeel Khan who are out of the national team.
Ahmed last played the marquee league in the 2020 season for the then defending champions Quetta Gladiators and had earlier won the title with the team in 2019.

The list is comprised of a combination of up-and-coming talents and veterans across the country campaigning to be part of any of six franchise teams.
Whilst that was happening, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed a new pick order on Wednesday for the PSL 10 draft.
The previous three Platinum categories have thus been combined into two while the Diamond categories have been down to a single one.
For instance, the Gold categories have been reduced by one to from three while the Silver categories have also been minimized by two to from five.
As per the latest draft pick list Lahore Qalandars top the list with the first pick in the Platinum list then Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultan and Islamabad United.
In contrast, Quetta Gladiators will start the Platinum 2 category with the first draft right and Karachi Kings will also be second.

The PCB later announced the revised schedule and venue of the PSL 10 player draft, which will now held on January 13 at Huzuri Bagh, Lahore at 12: 9PM (Pakistan Standard Time). It will be held at 12:00 PM: The event was scheduled for 9:00 PM (Pakistani time) on January 13 at Hazuri Bagh, Lahore. According to the PCB, the venue and schedule of the PSL 10 player draft have been announced.
The event which was planned to be held in Gwadar, Balochistan had to be shifted apparently because of some unexpected contingency.
Furthermore, emphasizing its commitment to strengthening cricketing relations between Pakistan and other cricketing nations, the PCB revealed that Gwadar will be one of the key stops for the PSL 2025 Trophy Tour.
