PCB chief discusses matters with England Cricket Board officials
I spoke to Richard Thompson from the ECB on Saturday. I received this statement from the PCB in which Thompson wished the team well for the Champions Trophy.
“We would like to wish Pakistan the very best for the Champions Trophy tournament,” Thompson said. In the statement, he lauded the England team to have undertaken a Test series to Pakistan which the host emerged victorious in 2-1.
He also thanked Naqvi for such outstanding hospitality during the event series. The interior minister said that Pakistan is fully prepared for the Champions Trophy and foolproof measures are being taken at every level for the tournament.
A PCB statement quoted the chief saying that all stadiums were being built “More modern” and guest teams would be treated “more state guest protocol.
BCCI Slams PCB Tour Plan // Pakistan Cricket Board Interior Cases
The BCCI has categorically rejected the PCB plan to include parts of Pakistan including PoK including Skardu, Hunza and Muzzafarabad in the Champions Trophy tour. According to ANI sources of BCCI, Secretary Jay Shah was quick to term the PCB’s act as unfair and urged the ICC to do something. The PCB announced this considerably as an official tour, not consulting the BCCI, which has earned protests and strong objections from the latter.
