Best ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Full Squads and Team Details

The new ICC Champions Trophy 2025 team list which revealed is a blend of seniors and juniors to prepare for the event with most pressure. Both the nations have chosen their players cautiously and both have chosen the best of most promising players keeping the balance between experienced and newcomers. Such teams’ leaders as Pat Cummins of Australia and Temba Bavuma of South Africa introduce leadership to teams loaded with great potential.

The ICC has said that the eight participating nations must name their squads of fifteen players at least a week before the start of the tournament scheduled for February 19th. However, we are permitted to make changes to the teams’ players up to one week before the start of the match. Any modifications next of as a way to require approval from the ICC Event Technical Committee.

Lockie Ferguson and Ben Sears, the fast bowlers come back to New Zealand’s Fifteen Team for the Champions Trophy. Ferguson now is outside the contracted players’ list; he skipped recent games to play in the BBL, and Sears returns after a knee injury knocked him out.

Ferguson and Matt Henry in the pace bowling department are yet to feature in their first ICC tournament along with Sears, Will O’Rourke and Nathan Smith.The squad experience is supported by Mitchell Santner, Tom Latham, and Williamson, who has played in 2013 and 2017 series.

Their first appearance in the tournament among the world’s top eight ODI teams sees Hashmatullah Shahidi captain the team and former Pakistan captain Younis Khan mentor.

Australia have announced a 14-man squad for the Champions Trophy, which has been confirmed as a balanced and experienced squad, with newcomers Matt Short and Aaron Hardy making their first ICC events team. Pat Cummins has been included despite being sidelined with an ankle injury, with the selectors confident he is fully fit for selection.

Nathan Ellis also makes the squad after playing well in the Big Bash League.The key differences between the ODI World Cup trio are David Warner, who has retired, Cameron Green, who was injured, and Shaun Abbott. The all-rounders are Marsh, Maxwell, Stoinis, Short and Hardy, while Alex Carey has been selected as the second wicketkeeper and lower middle-order batsman.

South Africa

The South Africans selectors have assembled an array of experienced players for the Champions Trophy and 10 players for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. Temba Bavuma will captain, and seamer Lungi Ngidi is back in the squad after missing some games due to a groined injury.

Speaking on behalf of the Coach Rob Walter, the team executive said that the strength was a combination between experience and youthful players and the coach’s aim was to do better in the international competitions.

Note: Anrich Nortje was initially in the South Africa’s playing squad but he has withdrawn from the team due to back problem. He also didn’t make the 2019 WC team because of thumb injury and 2023 WC for hip injury.
